Teresa Shook, human resources specialist, loves adventuring at national parks.
“I love exploring and hiking in National Parks during any season!”

Grounds employee Tony Green embraces the fast pace and long roads with motorcycle rides.
“This is my all year round favorite activity,” said Green. “But with the spring breeze, riding my Harley on the open roads feels like heaven!”
Or, if you’re the daring type like Josh Parker, BIM/FCAP manager, try whitewater kayaking.
Give it a try at the Whitewater Center or explore other activities such as whitewater rafting, ziplines, yoga, mountain biking, climbing and more.
Some people are excited for spring to see their gardens bloom. Roberto Ortiz-Zayas, IT project manager, has a garden full of vegetables.
Dannie R. Mirovich from Parking and Transportation Services loves his strawberry and cucumber garden, as well as canning the spoils.
“I use the straw bales to make my Mister D’s Bread & Butter Pickles and to grow the herbs for different flavors of infused olive oil,” said Mirovich. “The rest of my garden I use to plant all the vegetables needed to make my Mister D’s Salsa and Mister D’s Pepper Jelly.”
How could we forget camping? Kelly Hilton, financial and business services coordinator, definitely didn’t.
“We love camping!” said Hilton. “Or should I say ‘Glamping’?”
And fishing, too, enjoyed by Bart Davis, landscape specialist.
Enjoying the outdoors and time with family can be the sweetest activity of all.
“This time of year, I love enjoying the outdoors with my daughters, Ella and Maya,” said Tabitha McDaniel, accounting and procurement specialist. “This picture was taken in Freedom Park this past weekend. We had a tasty lunch and got a lot of sunshine.”
